The concept of Thieves' Kitchen was born during 1998. In February 2000 they released their first disc "Head". This material was catalogued by the critics as fresh, original and eclectic, with comparissons to National Health, Frank Zappa and King Crimson, but more refreshing. The album's reception was so positive that the band was elevated to innovators of modern progressive rock. Thieves' Kitchen returned to record "Argot", their second album, same that was released in April 2001 and immediately was placed as one of the best albums of the year.
