Alfonso Vidales – Shepperd
This will be the third solo release by Alfonso, and best of all the music gets better every release. This is by far his best yet. Surpirsingly good vocals by Alfonso makes me wonder if or why I have not heard more by him. Lyrics included. Released in 2000

CAST – Legacy
Stretching their musical boundaries a step further, with complex compositions and outstanding musicianship, CAST delivers their ninth album once again just in time for the Baja Prog Festival in Mexicali, Mexico. Keyboards are better than ever, so are guitars, bass and drums, but most of all, the vocals are shared by two different voices that add variation as well as harmony when combined. Lots of instrumental works too in this album that totals almost 73 minutes. Cover artwork by Enrique Slim. Sung in english. Lyrics included. Released in 2000

CAST – Laguna de
Volcanes (Double Album)
The vocals in this album
are totally in spanish. The mix of tracks is different than “A Live
Experience”, giving this release a unique combination of CAST compositions from
their first eight studio releases. Some new mixes were added as well as older
recordings with a different lineup, and the result is an album from CAST with a
totally different twist, geared towards hispanic audiences, but just as
pleasurable to enjoy if you do not know the language. Sung in spanish. Released
in 2000.

CAST – Imaginary
Window
A new world is opened
looking through the “Imaginary Window”. A new proposal arrives after releasing
seven studio albums, plus, two live ones and many collaboration samplers
sharing credits with bands from all over the world, not forgetting the soloist
work of their members. CAST, in their restless and endless search, probe their
own possibilities towards the group’s inner thoughts, reaching moments of
intense musical creation without exposing a critique to the general disorder,
known to others as “order”, and their proposal of love to their fellow man. In
that infinite give and receive, “Imaginary Window” allows to see the influence,
today more than ever, of all the members of CAST, an influence present in all
compositions of general intervention that without any doubt delivers that sound
that only CAST can give. Let’s take a look through this imaginary window so we
can see an amazing world of music and ideas. Cover artwork by Enrique Slim. Sung
in english. Lyrics included. Released in 1999

VARIOUS ARTISTS –
Baja Prog Theme
This is an idea that is
recorded in “CAST Studio” during the days of Baja Prog ’98 (from March 25 thru
28, 1998). This idea is born and the intention is that those personalities
involved leave trace in Mexico where one by one the bands were giving their
best for the Festival. With this recorded statement history takes place where
the first such theme happens during a Progressive Rock Festival, allowing each
participant to leave their sensibility and art for the audiences of Baja Prog.
Featured participations from Ten Jinn, Cruz de Hierro, Iluvatar, Equinox, XII
Alfonso, Salem, Puppet Show, Cast and Minimum Vital. Total running time is
approximately 10 minutes. Available only on Cassette Tape. Sung in english.
Released in 1999.

This new work from CAST
marks two interesting and important moments in the group's life span. The first
one is the coming of the twentieth anniversary of their foundation, and the
second one is that with this album, their seventh studio album to date, CAST
shows great maturity musically in their members with the interconnection of
lyrics in the compositions and their wonderful writing style. The instrumental
passages that have been part of the work of CAST since the early days, have
been enriched in this work with the incorporation of even more classical sounds
in the themes. "Angels and Demons" corroborates why the critics label
their music as "symphonic rock" and induces listeners to sensibilize
themselves, analyzing each detail and making them feel like they are an
integral part of this magnificent musical work. This album represents the
consolidation of the only mexican progressive rock group that has achieved
international recognition, not only obtaining awards and special mentions, but
also receiving continuous invitations to participate as headliners in festivals
of the genre around the world. Great art work from Michael Bennett from North
Carolina, who also did Beyond Reality. Sung in english. Lyrics included.
Released in 1998.

The last three songs are previously unreleased material from CAST, dating as
far back as 1989, two of such pieces are sung in spanish. Released in 1997.

FRANCISCO HERNANDEZ –
Whispers from the Wind
This is a good example
of the result of many years of dedication as a musician and songwriter, both on

bass and flute and Antonio Bringas on drums. His son Zelman also joins him on
drums. Strong debut with guitar works and voices that show us the many sides of
Francisco. Sung in english. Lyrics included. Released in 1996.

This album is considered
one of the best releases of 1996, according to the Annual Internet Prog Poll
conducted at the newsgroup rec.music.progressive. The album is made up of four
very long tracks, and a track they did from the Camel tribute album
"Harbour of Joy" from Mellow Records in Italy. Great keyboards and
drums. Also for the first time, a duo between vocalists Dino and Francisco.
Great cover artwork by Michael Bennett. Sung in english. Lyrics included.
Released in 1996.

Mexico. Two songs from the concert at the Pre-Prog Fest '95 at the Barnsdall

five releases. The Album cover folds out into three parts and might surprise
you, just for the similarity with the work from Roger Dean. A good complement

ALFONSO VIDALES -
Between Two Walls (Entre Dos Paredes)
Alfonso's first Compact
Disc, but not necessarily his first solo work. A totally different keyboard
twist. Jazzy keyboard works in some tracks, without falling into the new age
category. Electronic drums give a feeling of a group effort, but for the most
part Alfonso is the only one playing all instruments. Entirely intrumental
works. Released in 1995.

instrumental finale. Art inside the album by Enrique Slim. Sung in english.

1991. "Ehoes" is played live very often, along with "A Light of
Darkness". Sung in english. Lyrics included. Released in 1995.
